If someone would have told me half a year ago that I would teach Yoga in a school in Nepal, I would have thought this person is crazy. But that’s exactly what I did and I’m still so thankful for this opportunity. During my time I did not only teach Yoga, but also helped in the garden, went to the library and hiking with the children and helped painting in a workshop, where some mothers of the kids work and make beautiful things like wallets and bags with typical Nepali patterns.
Children and Youth First is a project which started ten years ago, when Haushala, the founder-director found an orphanage where 14 children lived under neglecting conditions. Right now there are living about 80 kids, who call “Life Vision Academy“ their home. They come from all over Nepal and no matter under which circumstances they are coming to the school, they find a new family. Haushala and her family give them a new perspective for the life they deserve to live. They live in a beautiful with nature.
My stay was definitely too short but I understood a bit of how they are working together and what “CYF“ is about. But it’s still just a glimpse of how much they’re achieving each and every day. I have nothing but deep respect and love for the people, who live there and make this magical thing happen and work. The wonderful Didis made my stay feel like home and the children touched my heart in so many ways, that in the end it is no secret, who where the real teachers.
I’m so grateful that I could be part of this wonderful family. My special thanks goes to Haushala, if it wasn’t for her I would never figure out which potentials are really inside me. She makes you believe in yourself and that’s what she’s also teaching to the kids. Because of you Haushala, they will be able to reach their goals and will always have a place, which they can call HOME. Also I have the feeling, that I have a second home, where I can always come back.
I’m wishing you all the best and lots of power for the future. Keep your head up and your heart strong!
Love, Johanna
