Home Away From Home: Zander's Perspective

This post is part of a series of anecdotes by people who have visited and given time to CYF during their travels in Nepal.

If I had to describe my Nepal trip in one word, that word would be: Incredible. Fortunately, I can use many words to describe it so that is exactly what I am going to do. Going to Nepal was one of the most life-changing experiences that I’ve ever had. It was amazing being immersed in an entirely new culture, full of new people and great food. All the kids at the Life Vision Academy were bundles of joy that were all brimming with charm and personality. While I visited the school, I taught kids how to program games in a Scratch! A lot of the kids were incredibly creative, and made some really impressive games!!

But the kids weren’t the only people who learned something during this trip. I also learned a lot about how life was like in Nepal, and I had a newfound appreciation for the privileges that I have in America, and an incredible amount of respect for these Nepal kids. I miss them already, and I hope I can see them in the future!!
