CHILDREN AND YOUTH FIRST

WHEN YOU INVEST IN CHILDREN, YOU INVEST IN THE FUTURE.

We are a locally-founded, locally-led organisation working for the rights of Nepal's children, women and minorities.

Our Projects

LIFE VISION ACADEMY

Life Vision Academy is CYF's unique, progressive boarding school located outside Kathmandu. We are helping children and teens access their right to education by providing a safe home and paid tuition to kids who can't afford public school. Our holistic curriculum is dynamic, creative, and unprecedented in our region.

EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

On April 25, 2015, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake tore through Kathmandu Valley. We formed the CYF Collective with local organisations and activists, bringing aid to 91 villages and rebuilding schools.

HAUSHALA CREATIVES

Haushala means "encouragement" in Nepali. At Haushala Creatives, we encourage marginalised women to build social and financial independence by embracing their own creativity. Our women's cooperative trains artisans in knitting and sewing, and our women's coworking space is a community of entrepreneurial female leaders.

CHILDREN GO CODING

We are bridging the opportunity gap in Nepal's STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Through our Children Go Coding campaign, we are encouraging children from disadvantaged backgrounds to learn and explore.

Latest Updates

It takes a lot to feed a school of growing kids! This is how we used your donations last year to keep our students fed, healthy and happy. About 2/3 of our food budget covered ration (raw food materials), such as rice, oil, dahl, etc. The other 1/3 purchased all of our fresh food, which we buy locally, including milk, eggs, meat, tofu, and vegetables (aside from those we grow ourselves in our organic garden). Thank you for all of your contributions!

A Look at the Life Vision Academy Campus:
Our Outdoor Learning Space

Daniel Waples (@hanginbalance) & Flavio Lopez (@flaviolopezingg) recently brought their unique music to Life Vision Academy, Godavari, Nepal to perform for students in the campus' Outdoor Learning Space. The children had never learned about the handpan before, and they loved it!
