CYF Youth Ambassadors
Our Youth Ambassadors are a network of young leaders around the world, contributing innovative ideas and mobilizing their communities to advance CYF's mission in Nepal.
Merina Phagami, Hong Kong
In September, I got to volunteer at Life Vision Academy with the Tracing Nepal team and I truly enjoyed my time there. The students (and the staff!) gave me so much in the form of inspiration, of love, and of happiness, and when I heard about the opportunity to become a Youth Ambassador for CYF, I knew I had to at least give it a shot and try my best to give back to the students that gave me wonderful memories and the didis that fed me so well (as well as the didis that made my beautiful laptop case). I really look forward to working with CYF and to spreading the word about CYF, especially here, in Hong Kong :)
Siddarth Chhettri, Michigan, USA
What made me want to become a youth ambassador was my recent trip to Nepal over the summertime. While we were there, we visited the school and when I saw the kids my age and younger, happy and open their hearts to us, I instantly knew that I had to be part of this organization and help however I can.
Simran Piya, Edinburgh, UK
I am currently a second year medical student studying in the UK. In the summer of 2015, I volunteered in the Life Vision Academy with the Children & Youth First charity. I came out of that experience with so many wonderful memories and a renewed sense of perception. Since then, I have been following the journey of the children through social media and have kept the work close to my heart. When this opportunity was advertised, I jumped at the chance to be involved. I am really looking forward to working with the amazing CYF team and I am very excited and hopeful for the future!
Turner Brown, New Hampshire, USA
My name is Turner Brown and I'm fundraising to sponsor students at Life Vision Academy. These are kids who have overcome homelessness, malnutrition, abuse and more to get to where they are today. At Life Vision Academy, they receive a great education, healthy meals, and a safe home. The school also has activities like soccer, hiking, breakdancing, guitar classes, Tai Kwon Do, and organic gardening. I'm raising money to help pay for more young students to join the school and to help the older students finish high school. My goal is to raise at least $1,020 which would get one high school student through their last year of high school.
